About

Cameron Livingstone is a sculptor working in wood, creating wildlife forms shaped through close observation, restraint and a disciplined approach to making.

Based in Perthshire, Scotland, Cameron draws his inspiration from the glen he has lived in since childhood. The landscape, wildlife and seasonal rhythms of this place have formed a constant backdrop to his life and work, fostering a deep familiarity with animal form, movement and behaviour.

Alongside sculpture, Cameron has a long-standing passion for wildlife photography. Time spent observing and photographing animals in their natural environment informs his understanding proportion, posture and presence and feeds directly into his sculptural practice. This process of looking-patiently and repeatedly-underpins the work as much as the act of carving itself.

Each sculpture develops slowly through making, allowing decisions to be guided by form, balance and material rather than a fixed outcome. Some works remain natural; others incorporate selectively applied paint, used only where it enhances the sculpture form.

Cameron produces work in small numbers, including a limited number commissions each year. Every piece is approached as a singular work, shaped by place, observation and time.
